Everything you need to know to prepare for the Winter Challenge
Read this first:
The safety and well-being of every one of you is our absolute priority, so it is critical that everyone share in the responsibility that comes with making such an event happen in these times.
Please note: The Covid related rules that follow supersede all other rules in this document, on the website, or anything else you see from us, unless you hear otherwise.
In addition to the regular guidelines (CDC) we all know so well at this stage, here's what we expect from everyone... no exceptions:
Race Start - There will be a staggered start for both the Triathlon and Duathlon. Additionally, we ask that all runners wear a mask for the first stage of the run (distance TBD, but likely the first 1/8 of a mile, or until the field has a chance to spread out.
Bonfire - Tough to social distance when you're huddled around a fire for warmth, so here again... wear a mask.
Post Race Meal - Though you can surely expect a hearty post-race meal, please expect this year's fare to be streamlined and strictly outdoors.
Awards Ceremony - No real issues here as long as everyone keeps their distance and rocks a mask, as appropriate.
And here's the bottom line:
Your brohams are in this for the good times, same as everyone else. We have zero interest in policing behavior that conflicts with the guidelines above, so please, please, with sugar on top... be cool and follow the guidelines.
Furthermore, we're not checking vaccine cards and there will be no antibody tests onsite, so our expectations will be the exact same for everyone onsite. Seriously, don't put your brohams in a tight spot.
